Shipping container to SA
I'm shipping about 3/4 of a 20ft container to SA in the next month or so. Anyone interested in taking up some of the left over space?

RE: Shipping container to SA
It cost me around EURO5500 to ship to SA. I used a company called McGimpsey's in NI (the strong EURO made it cheaper to pay in Pounds). Hope this helps!

RE: Shipping container to SA
Hi Hettie, I looked into this in depth. 1/2 20ft container = 500 cubic feet. I got quotes from quite a few removal companies and the best one I found is D.J Hanley International (ireland) they are B.A.R approved (British Assoc of Removers) for 1/2 20ft container I was quoted €2600 door to door and that includes them doing the packing. They charge 2% of the 2600-00 for insurance. I dealt with Dave and he was very helpful. tel- 2810416 or check out their website. I also contacted Aachener International - Peter 4589310 and prices differed dramatically. 300cubic = 2742
400cubic = 3627
500cubic = 4448
not sure if they are BAR approved. Note that the quotes I got were to collect in Dublin deliver to Cape Town.
Move Plus - Paul - 4149668 would not give quote over the phone, he came to the house and a week later I still have not got a quote.
A few people have recomended Seven Seas but if you check the web their are loads of complaints about them. Who ever you use make sure that they are B.A.R approved. Happy hunting...
